Great ideas get great results. That’s about the only thing that stayed consistent in our industry over the past year. Everything else – well, that’s another story. New media, new technology, new budgets, even new agency models kept marketing professionals moving at full speed to stay on top. So it’s with both excitement and relief that we announce the 2010 ICE Awards. It’s our reminder that creativity, ideas and marketing excellence are still at the root of everything we do. It’s why so many aspire to join this industry, and why so many of us stay. After all, you can never have too many ICE buckets. Keeping with the changes that are invigorating our industry, the ICE Awards themselves are undergoing an evolution. In a departure from previous years, the 2010 ICE Awards is not chaired by a single agency. Instead, the next generation of marketing professionals, with the guidance of a few industry stalwarts, will take up the task of paying tribute to creativity in Atlantic Canada.
In addition, we’ve made a few changes to the entry process that we believe will make the experience simpler (and greener). Entries in broadcast categories will no longer require hard copies – all entries will be submitted digitally.
We’re pleased to acknowledge Target for once again volunteering to host the judging weekend. After putting on a great weekend last year, ICE is looking forward to returning to St. John’s during September 16-18 (stay tuned for more details).
Winners will be announced at the ICE Awards Gala on October 22, 2010, to be held at the World Trade and Convention Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We look forward to seeing you there.
Sincerely,
Sarah Fitzgerald, Co-chair Tyler MacLeod, Co-chair
