Inspiration. When you take everything else off the table – the client meetings, the late night huddles, the double-shot espressos, and the well-deserved celebrations – this is what it’s all about. It’s why we do what we do, it’s why we love what we do, and it’s why people want to do what we do. It’s the driving force behind this year’s ICE Awards as we share, draw, and foster inspiration in Atlantic Canada.
Leading us through this showcase of creativity is a true veteran of inspiration, internationally acclaimed Creative Director, Zak Mroueh of Zulu Alpha Kilo. With a career spanning SMW, Chiat/Day, BBDO and TAXI, Zak is the only Creative Director in Canada to ever lead a shop to a total of seven Agency of the Year titles, earning his ranking as one of the top ten creative directors worldwide by Creativity Magazine.
Zak will bring his wealth of experience and expertise as he leads a panel of industry-recognized judges from outside of Atlantic Canada as they convene in St. John’s, NL to review all award submissions in September. Throughout his impressive career, it is his unconventional take on inspiration that he credits with some of his best work and ultimately the decision to launch his now-thriving agency in 2008"
“My approach is to look at ideas through the innocence of an unsuspecting viewer’s eyes,” said Mroueh. “Since 1997, I’ve gone out of my way to not be influenced by what the industry views as great. I think it’s important to think independently and not be swayed by the latest industry fad or by replicating what’s in an awards annual.”
